Scott Stanley, Ph.D., is a research professor and co-director of the Center for Marital and Family Studies at the University of Denver. His research now focuses on how premarital experiences, particularly cohabitation, relate to the quality and stability of marriages. Stanley has authored or co-authored numerous books including A Lasting Promise, Fighting for Your Marriage, and The Power of Commitment. His writes a popular blog (slidingvsdeciding.com), and he regularly appears in print and broadcast media—both secular and Christian—as an expert on relationships and marriage.
